People have been urged to be wary of four red flag symptoms of blood cancer.
Leukaemia is one of the most deadly forms of cancers as it affects people of all ages and its rate of survival is just 50%. Two charities, Leukaemia UK and Leukaemia Care, are aiming to raise awareness about symptoms of the disease, which is often diagnosed too late and kills 5,000 people a year in the UK.
There are many different forms of the disease, including acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, chronic myeloid leukaemia, and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Four of the most common signs include fatigue, bruising, unusual bleeding and repeated infections - as The Daily Record reports.

People who are concerned about any of the below symptoms are being strongly urged by the charities to contact their GP and request a blood test. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines, NG12 states that you are required to have an urgent blood test (within 48 hours) if you are presenting with any of the symptoms of leukaemia.
The following are signs and symptoms of the disease, courtesy of Leukaemia UK:
