On January 13, 2026, Blizzard Entertainment revealed in an exclusive interview with PC Gamer its vision for how it will shape World of Warcraft's long-awaited Player Housing feature
This feature is currently available via Early Access for those who pre-ordered World of Warcraft: Midnight and is scheduled to launch fully on March 2, 2026, alongside the upcoming expansion.
Blizzard Entertainment states that, "This is a system that we're not just setting up to last for the launch of Midnight, but for years to come." It plans to make it good on this statement with all kinds of activities, features, and updates to the Player Housing system, before, when, and after the Midnight expansion arrives.
Here are summations of what you expect to see for Player Housing in World of Warcraft.
New Player Housing content coming soon

On January 20, 2026, there will be a pre-patch, setting the stage for World of Warcraft: Midnight's story.
During this patch, Player Housing in Early Access will be getting Neighbour-wide Endeavors, which will see players assigned various quests to complete that will earn them decor to decorate their houses with.
Blizzard Entertainment has also stated other updates for Player Housing coming shortly after the Midnight Pre-Patch or when the Midnight expansion launches, including:
- Guild Halls
- New Decor items dropping in Midnight's first set of Raids, with a guaranteed number of items from each boss that has decor. The count scales with raid size, and the loot will be personalized and have bad luck protection.
- New Renown levels. Extra housing XP earned before the update goes live will be applied to the levels, and Blizzard Entertainment expects Housing Journey will have 5-10 levels added per major patch.
- Houses will receive "Exterior rooms" to allow daylight and exterior scenes accessible in a player's house.
- Night Elf and Blood Elf exteriors.
- "Medium"-sized home exteriors.
- Increased visible plot boundaries so players can more easily see where they can add objects to their property.
- Interactive objects for players to play with, such as holding glasses, reading books, or playing games like the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred pre-order bonus chess set.

Blizzard Entertainment has stated that they're working on other Player Housing updates that may arrive sooner rather than later, which includes:
- Importing and exporting rooms, collections of objects, and even entire house layouts.
- Exterior decor limit increased.
- Exterior lighting allowed.
- Mounts and Pets you've collected wander around your home.
- New decor items that mimic other cultures and biomes inside and outside your home, such as snow.
- Flavor animations for certain decor items when you click on them.
Future plans for Player Housing after Midnight's launch

Blizzard Entertainment has other updates planned in the long-term for Player Housing that we may have to wait long after the Midnight expansion launches, which include:
- Guild Rank Housing Permissions, where Guild Leaders can determine if a player is allowed to build a house in their guild's neighbourhood.
- Basement levels for players' houses.
- More space and support for roleplaying and community events.
- Expansions of existing neighbourhoods or creating entirely new ones.
Are you ready to settle into your new home in World of Warcraft: Midnight?

There you have Blizzard Entertainment's plans for World of Warcraft's Player Housing feature. However, the company has stated it release a more detailed content roadmap for Player Housing close to Midnight's launch.
Personally, I'm looking forward to messing around with the Player Housing feature after getting a taste of it via Early Access.
It has tons of potential for creative player-expression, fun activities for me and my guildmates to play in, and offers more endgame variety to strive for other than Raiding, Delves, Pet Battles, PVP, and Fishing, to name a few.
So I can't wait to play the full version of Player Housing, along with the new Haranir playable race, the solo-friendly Prey content, new Raids and Delves, the new Devourer Demon Hunters specialization, and more, when World of Warcraft: Midnight launches on March 2, 2026, for PC.

Are you looking forward to Player Housing in World of Warcraft? Are there gameplay features you want to see added for Player Housing in the future, after the Midnight expansion launches?
