BLG shatter Europe’s hopes, claim maiden international trophy at FST 2026

Bilibili Gaming finally have their moment.

After years of knocking on the door of international success, BLG delivered a statement performance on the biggest stage at First Stand Tournament 2026, dismantling G2 Esports in the grand final to secure the organization’s first international League of Legends title.

In doing so, they didn’t just win, they emphatically ended Europe’s last hope of lifting the trophy. G2 entered the finals riding momentum and belief, fresh off their statement wins earlier in the tournament against the best Korean teams. But against BLG, that confidence quickly unraveled.

From the opening minutes of game one, the LEC representatives dictated the pace, suffocating BLG through superior map control, cleaner teamfighting, and relentless pressure across lanes. Caps’ Aurora had a flawless KDA of 12/0/7, along with strong performances from SkewMond’s Jarvan IV, which gave G2 Esports a perfect start to the series.

After the first match, the series quickly turned into a showcase of BLG’s identity, a team constantly searching for openings and punishing even the smallest mistakes. Xun’s Pantheon made sure that the LPL representative kept finding advantages. Every skirmish seemed calculated, every rotation timed to perfection. Where G2 typically thrives in chaos, BLG denied them that space entirely to level the series.

Topside control proved especially decisive in the third match with Bin’s Jax, with BLG repeatedly neutralizing G2’s attempts to create side lane advantages. In the mid lane, BLG’s star playmaker dictated tempo along with their jungler, ensuring that neutral objectives were never truly contestable. By the time teamfights broke out, the gold leads had already done their work.

In the decider, while G2 Esports had a solid lead, the LPL representatives ultimately took away the series. For BLG, this victory is more than just a trophy, it is validation. The roster has long been considered one of the most talented in the LPL, but international success has remained just out of reach. FST 2026 changes that narrative completely.

Their run through the tournament showed a team that has evolved beyond raw aggression. This was a version of BLG that balanced their instinct to fight with a refined understanding of tempo, macro, and patience. Against G2, that evolution was on full display in the later matches.

The win also reinforces the LPL’s continued strength on the global stage, with BLG now joining the list of Chinese teams to claim international glory. Previously, BLG had fallen short in multiple international finals, finishing as runners-up with losses to JDG at MSI 2023, Gen.G at MSI 2024, and T1 at Worlds 2024, making their FST 2026 triumph a long-awaited breakthrough.

For BLG’s AD carry, Viper became the only player to win back-to-back FST titles, having lifted the trophy last year with Hanwha Life Esports. Meanwhile, BLG’s top laner Bin earned the series MVP award for his outstanding performances, shifting the momentum in his team’s favor.

For G2, the loss will sting. They arrived in Brazil as Europe’s best chance to challenge the East, and for much of the event, they delivered. Their creativity, confidence, and willingness to take risks carried them deep into the bracket and into the finals against all the odds.

The execution gap was clear against BLG, and G2 were forced into reactive play far more often than they would have liked. Despite the defeat, their run still stands as a reminder that Europe can compete, even if the final step remains elusive.

In the end, though, the story of FST 2026 belongs to BLG, a team that came in searching for their breakthrough and left with history in their hands.
