It was suggested in a Bleacher Report article on Sunday by Greg Swartz that the Chicago Bulls should be looking to move Coby White ahead of the trade deadline. As Swartz points out, the Bulls should only trade White if they are not interested in paying him as a restricted free agent this upcoming offseason.
On September 22nd, 2021, the Chicago Bulls exercised the 4th-year option in White’s contract, but have not agreed to a contract extension with him yet. White last played on October 29th because he is currently dealing with a quad issue.
In the meantime, guard Ayo Dosunmu has asserted himself when given starter’s minutes and guard Dalen Terry, the 18th overall pick in the 2022 draft, should be getting more minutes as the season progresses. Not to mention that guard Lonzo Ball should come back sometime this season and make it harder for White to find his way back in the rotation.
‘Rebuilding teams that can offer White a role as a sixth man or spot starter should have an interest in bringing in the 7th overall pick of 2019, seeing what he can do with a bigger share of the offense.’
