Emergency services have rushed to a Scots takeaway after a fire broke out on Sunday afternoon.
Nine fire engines are currently at the scene in East Fountainbridge Road, Edinburgh, after the fire service was alerted to a blaze shortly after 4pm.
Photographs from the scene show clouds of smoke billowing out of Indian restaurant and takeaway Guchhi India as fire fighters tackle the raging inferno.
Two appliances can be seen parked outside of the premises as around six fire fighters crowd the entrance, Edinburgh Live reports.
Witnesses described the strong smell of smoke as the area was cordoned off and travel services disrupted while emergency services deal with the incident.
An eyewitness said: "Looks like a fire at a takeaway. Lots of people stopped to watch and pavement cordoned off. You can really smell the smoke blowing down the street".
Lothian Buses confirmed services were terminating at Semple Street until further notice as they cannot enter Bread Street and East Fountainbridge.
Bus services 2 and 35 are being diverted via Lauriston Place and Ponton Street west bound until further notice.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue service said: "We received a call on Sunday March 12 at 4.21pm and nine fire appliances have been sent to East Fountainbridge Road and are currently at the scene dealing the incident."
