A teenage football player has become the only openly gay professional footballer in Britain after coming out publicly. Jake Daniels said it was "the right time to do it".
Jake, who plays as a striker for Blackpool, made an historic step when he made the move in an interview with Sky Sports News. He signed a professional deal with the club, known as the Seasiders, earlier this season and is aged just 17.
Following in the footsteps of Justin Fashanu, who became the first openly gay professional footballer in the 1990s, Jake touched on the importance of the support of the club and team mates, reports LancsLive.
