Blackpink's Lisa joins cast of The White Lotus Season 3

The White Lotus Season 3

In exciting news for fans of the hit HBO series 'The White Lotus,' it has been exclusively revealed that Lisa, a member of the internationally renowned group Blackpink, will be joining the cast of Season 3. Lisa will be credited under her given name, Lalisa Manobal, successfully marking her acting debut in the highly anticipated show.

Set to begin production in February, the third season of 'The White Lotus' will be filmed in various locations in Thailand, including Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok. While plot details are being kept under wraps, it is known that the season will introduce a new group of guests at the White Lotus resort property. The ensemble cast is already quite extensive, featuring recognizable names such as Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, and Parker Posey, among others.

For Lisa, this opportunity showcases her versatility as an artist, expanding beyond her music career with Blackpink. She is now the second member of the group to appear in an HBO series, following Jennie, who made her acting debut in the drama 'The Idol' in June 2023.

Since their debut in 2016, Blackpink has quickly risen to become one of the most popular music groups in the world. Comprised of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, they have achieved remarkable success in the music industry. Their song 'Boombayah' reached number one on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, setting a record as the most-viewed debut music video by a Korean act. Additionally, Blackpink became the highest-charting female K-Pop group on the Billboard Hot 100 with their hit 'Ddu-Du Ddu Du,' peaking at number 55. They have also collaborated with renowned artists such as Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez.

As for Lalisa Manobal herself, she has also achieved significant milestones as a solo artist. In 2021, her solo album 'Lalisa' sold an incredible 736,999 copies in its first week in South Korea, making her the first female artist to achieve this feat. Both singles from the album, 'Lalisa' and 'Money,' charted in the top ten of the Billboard Global 200. 'Money' became the longest-charting song by a female K-Pop soloist on the US Billboard 100 and UK Singles Chart.

Moreover, Lalisa Manobal has broken three Guinness World Records in 2023. She holds the titles for the Most Instagram followers for a K-Pop artist, as well as being the first solo K-Pop winner at both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards. These achievements speak volumes about her global popularity and influence in the music industry.

'The White Lotus' is the brainchild of creator Mike White, who also serves as an executive producer and director of the series. The show has proven to be a massive hit for HBO since its debut in 2021. The first season, set in Hawaii, received an impressive 20 Emmy nominations and won ten awards, including the coveted best limited or anthology series. The second season, which took viewers to Sicily, earned 23 Emmy nominations, including a nomination for best drama series, and ultimately won five awards.

HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support the filming and promotion of the third installment of 'The White Lotus.' The collaboration is expected to showcase the beauty and cultural richness of Thailand, adding an extra layer of resonance to the upcoming season.

With Lisa's addition to the cast and the success of the previous seasons, anticipation for 'The White Lotus' Season 3 is at an all-time high. As details unfold, fans eagerly await the release of the new season, anxiously hoping for another captivating storyline that will keep them on the edge of their seats.
