Over 1,000 Black female leaders and organizers have come together to show their support for President Joe Biden by signing an open letter addressed to Democratic leaders. The letter expresses disappointment over what they perceive as a 'lack of unity' within the party during a tumultuous period marked by calls for the president to step aside in the 2024 race.
The signees of the letter highlight the fact that President Biden and Vice President Harris received 14 million votes during the primary election process earlier this year, making them the duly elected Democratic Party nominees for the upcoming 2024 Presidential election.
Notable figures such as former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Actress Vivica A. Fox, and Carol Moseley Braun, the first Black woman elected to the US Senate, are among those who have lent their support to the letter.

The letter emphasizes that the primaries earlier this year provided the appropriate platform to challenge candidates and assess their qualifications for the nomination, indicating that the time for such debates has passed.
It suggests a potential clash among different factions within the Democratic Party, with Black voters consistently demonstrating strong support for President Biden.
The letter was shared with the media by Melanie Campbell, chair of the Power of the Ballot Access Fund, and was first reported by The Hill.
