Black Eyed Peas apologise for gaffe at Galway concert as fans boo

Boos rang out from some audience members as The Black Eyed Peas mistook Ireland for the UK during a concert in Galway.

The highly-anticipated concert took place over the Bank Holiday weekend and saw thousands pour into Pearse Stadium at Salthill.

At one point during the band's eye-popping set at Pearse Stadium, the 'Boom Boom Pow' hitmakers mistook Ireland for the UK when addressing the massive crowd - Galway Beo reports.

One concertgoer took to social media to vent their frustration at the blunder as they said: "The Black Eyed Peas were fantastic in Galway tonight, but somebody needs to tell them Ireland is not in the UK.

"It’s quite surprising how many musicians/celebrities make the mistake."

Even Galway comedian Sir Stevo Timothy joined in on the joke and said: "Out at the Black Eyed Peas gig out in Salthill and @iamwill keeps saying UK and the crowd are booing!

Many agreed with the sentiment, as one person replied: "I think promoters or agents should have a quick sit down with the act to go over these things.

"Maybe a sign in the green room."

However frontman of the band Will.I.Am. made a swift apology following the comments on social media.

He responded to tweets pointing out the mistake saying: "I’m so sorry for that mistake…Please forgive my ignorance & accept my apology."
