Blac Cyna’s mother, Tokyo Toni, has launched a fund raising campaign to gather enough money for the reality star to appeal the ruling of her defamation case against the Kardashians.
Legal trouble erupted last month when 33-year-old Blac – real name Angela Renée White – took Kim Kardashian, her sisters Khloe and Kylie Jenner and their mother, Kris Jenner, to court amid allegations they ruined her career and defamed her reputation.
The reality star herself was at one time engaged to 35-year-old Rob Kardashian – with whom she shares a five-year-old daughter named Dream – and the former couple starred in a TV series togetger called Rob & Chyna.
The series was cancelled after one season, but Blac has attested that the series was axed due to the meddling of Kim and her family – with the allegations prompting Blac to launch a £80 million defamation case.
This week, a jury ruled that although the Kardashian: “often acted in bad faith on the issues brought up in the case”, they had caused “no substantial effect on Chyna’s contract or the fate of the show”.
Blac effectively lost her case and was awarded nothing in damages – but it sounds like she is not taking the ruling lying down.
Blac’s mother, Tokyo Tina – real name Shalana Hunter, 52 – is rallying fans to donate money so the star can launch a new legal battle to appeal the decision.
The protective mother has set a target of $400,000 (£320,000) for the new legal fight.
She has set up an appeal via GoFundMe with a statement declaring: “Hi I am Shalana Hunter BKA Tokyo Toni.
“I would like to appeal to the courts this Go Fund Me. Fundraiser to help my daughter, Angela R. White BKA Blac Chyna financially in this endeavour to get justice.
“’APPEAL FOR A NEW TRIAL’ COMING SOON”
She concluded: “Sincerely, Momma Tokyo."
She later updated the message to simply read: “Hey It’s Tokyo Toni. Family and friends. Sincerely, Momma Tokyo”
The mother and daughter have a long way to go, however, if they want to meet their target as they have raised just £547 in one day after 37 people made donations.
Meanwhile, the executive producer of the Rob & Chyna show has accused the judge in the defamation case of bias.
TMZ reports that Walter Mosley appeared on the It's Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast where the topic of the court case came up.
They report he: “thinks the Kardashians had more than an edge ... they had an enormous advantage, from a gaggle of lawyers in the courtroom to an endless amount of money to drop on the case, and a judge whom he says clearly favoured the famous fam.”
