New Delhi: Central Election Committee of BJP on Monday announced its candidates for the Rajya Sabha by-elections to be held in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Odisha. The party has fielded Rayaga Krishnaiah from Andhra Pradesh, Rekha Sharma from Haryana, and Sujit Kumar from Odisha.
Elections on Dec 20
It is should be noted that by-elections will be held on December 20 for 6 vacant seats of Rajya Sabha. Out of these six seats, three are from Andhra Pradesh. While elections are being held on one seat each from West Bengal, Haryana and Odisha. All these seats were vacant after the resignation of the current MPs.
The Election Commission had issued the notification for this by-election on December 3. The last date for filing nominations has been fixed as December 10. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on December 11, while candidates can withdraw their names till December 13.

Results same day
After voting on December 20, the results will also be declared on the same day. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the election process on these seats will be completed before December 24.
