LUCKNOW: Union minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said the welfare schemes of BJP had ensured that no one is deprived of basic necessities and had brought prosperity to the people.
Holding public meetings in Lucknow in support of BJP candidates, Goyal highlighted the development works of the Yogi government.
Addressing a public meeting in Niralanagar, he said: “Drawing inspiration from Sant Ravidas who wanted no one to sleep without food, the BJP started welfare schemes to ensure that no one is deprived of basic necessities. The party got ration delivered free of cost to every house. Our Ujjwala Scheme saved women from health hazards,”
The Union minister also took out a march to seek support for BJP candidate from Lucknow North Neeraj Bora. During a public meeting in Daliganj, he received a rousing welcome from traders, shopkeepers and residents.
“Today, we need leaders like Bora. Ensure his victory by a huge margin and bring back double-engine government to power for overall development of the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Goyal said the 24 crore people of the state are with the BJP because of the work done in every field by Yogi government.
“UP government is being praised everywhere. In 2017, when I was here for election campaign, I came to know about the killings of businessmen in many districts, including Lucknow, in a single day,” Goyal told reporters.
“Anarchy and crime was at its peak in UP and common man was scared. I visited the house of a businessman, Shravan Sahu, in Lucknow. The situation was bad,” he said.
Goyal said rule of law prevailed under the Yogi government.
“This has not only brought huge investments to the state but has also provided employment to lakhs of youth. Uttar Pradesh, which is free from goondaraj, is writing the story of India’s development,” he said.
