A hilarious TikTok video showing a group of teenagers dressed up in suits to see the new Minions movie is blowing up online.
The video, which was filmed at Dundrum Shopping Centre this week, shows a group of lads decked out in their finest suits to attend a screening of Minions: The Rise of Gru. Shared on TikTok by elenasaoirse who wrote: "Didn't think I'd see the minions trend in real life" and the wacky video has been viewed more than 44,000 times.
The trend which originated on TikTok seems to have started as just a bit of fun, but has now really caught on with teens, some even convincing their parents to bring them to a fancy restaurant before turning up to the cinema dressed to the nines.

To join in on the trend, fans simply dress their best in a full suit, or some have opted for jeans and a yellow t-shirt or, of course, a yellow t-shirt and denim overalls just like the minions themselves.
Irish people took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the unusual trend sweeping across cinemas. One person said: “Saw a load of lads in their suits in dundrum and my mam would not believe me that they were on their way to see the minions movie”.
Another Twitter user wrote: "What is the story with all these kids in suits in Dundrum going to see the Minions film?"
A third person wrote: "yes i’ve seen it on tiktok loads of teenage boys all proper dressing up to see it idk how it started hahahaha." A fourth person commented: "I saw it yesterday and there was a group in suits and another group all in yellow shirts and denim overalls."
