Bizarre 1940's beach photo proves 'time travel is real' after mystery man is spotted with mobile phone

Social media users have been left stunned after a bizarre 1940's beach photo has brought around speculation that time travel exists. The picture depicts hundreds of Brits escaping World War II and relaxing on a strip of the beach in Cornwall but one particular sunbather among the flocks of bodies appears to be from a different era.

Beady eyed social media users were quick to spot the noticeable imposter amongst the families sunbathing on the sand in September 1943, the Mirror reports. The mysterious man who is dressed in a brown suit is seen standing up and is looking at what seems to be a modern day smartphone in his hand, which was far from invention in that time period.

The internet, who have dubbed him as 'the texting time traveller', have been left divided with contrasting opinions on what the item he is holding may be. However, the concept of time travel being real has been branded 'ridiculous' by others who argued the man is simply rolling a cigarette.

On the other hand, others have insisted that the peculiar image taken at Towan Beach Newquay provides concrete evidence ''that time travel is real''. One comment read: "Er...is it just me or is this guy checking his phone…..in the 1940s?"

Another responded: "Shows how much beachwear has changed! Jacket, tie and hat?

''Mind they did that when I was a kid in the 50s." A third added: "Good catch.

''It’s clearly the man in the shot is a time travelling tourist checking his mobile device. Finally the evidence we need that time travel is real."

But the theory was rebuffed by one user who said: "I think that chap is rolling a cigarette!" In recent weeks, other ambiguous historical photographs have been brought to light and caused a stir among time travel conspiracy theorists.

The Mirror recently reported on new footage unearthed from 1938 provided 'proof' that time travel was real, according to some commentators. In the ground breaking clip, people can be seen heading towards a camera while one young woman is spotted holding something to the side of her head.

Time travel believers claim that the woman was talking over a mobile phone, years before the new technology was brought into the world. The woman who is sporting a stylish 30's dress is spotted chatting as she walks through crowds of people with the suspected phone held firmly to the side of her head.

As she lowers the device from her ear, it is identified to be a dark hand sized item with similar dimensions of a modern smart phone. The mystery has deepened even further after a YouTuber addressed the puzzling clip, claiming the woman in the shot was their great grandmother and confirmed she was using a mobile phone.

According to YouTube user Planetcheck, the device is an experimental wireless phone developed by industrial giant DuPont at their factory in Leominster, Massachusetts.
