Abjeet Singh Kingra, an Indian national convicted of carrying out an extortion attack at the Victoria-area home of Punjabi singer AP Dhillon, told Canada Immigration that he would be killed if he were sent back to India. In his testimony, Kingra said when he carried out the attack, he did not understand that he was working for the Bishnoi gang. "I got the news that this gang was threatening my family in India, and they said if I went back they would kill me," Kingra said, insisting that he was not a Bishnoi gang member.
