NEW DELHI: One of India's finest cricketers and legendary left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi breathed his last on October 23 and passed away at the age of 77 after a prolonged illness.
Bedi was part of India's celebrated spin quartet, which included Bedi, Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar and S Venkataraghavan.
He played for India from 1966 to 1979 and was admired for his art of spin, especially his skill to beat batsmen with flight and loop with an almost poetic action.
He took 266 wickets in 67 Test matches, besides taking 7 ODI wickets in 10 matches.
His mastery, control and the ability to fox batsmen almost at will also reflects in his 1560 first-class wickets in 370 matches.
As soon as the news of his death broke, India's who's who lined up on social media to offer their condolences
