Birmingham City boss sends 'going nowhere' message amid Leeds United's George Hall interest

Birmingham City boss John Eustace says he doesn't want George Hall 'going anywhere' amid reports heavily linking him with a move to Leeds United.

Hall has been on Leeds' radar for a long time, with some outlets claiming that the Whites are 'closing in' on a deal. However, Birmingham Live reported on Wednesday that the Blues are intent on keeping the youngster.

Eustace has offered a similar message of defiance in response to the speculation surrounding the midfielder, who he describes as 'one of the best' young players in the Championship.

"We're delighted with his progress," Eustace told BBC Radio WM. "He's a top young player. But all I want to do is to keep on developing George in the right way, which I think we have done so far.

"For me, George Hall is one of the top young players in the league. He's a very effective player whether he starts or we have him coming off the bench. He's only just turned 18 - and he's got an opportunity to showcase himself here. We don't want George Hall going anywhere."

It's reported that Birmingham want Hall to stay at the club throughout the rest of the 18 months left on his current deal. They have even reportedly offered him a new, improved contract in case he gets something better in negotiations with Leeds.

The Birmingham academy graduate played twice in the league in his debut campaign at senior level last term, but has been a resounding success this season. Hall scored his first goal for the club in August's 1-1 draw against Watford and has made 18 appearances in the Championship in total.
