Bird flu scare in Bihar: ‘Don’t panic, but take precautionary steps’

PATNA: Even as the Supaul district administration has alerted the people against bird flu, people in general need not panic from it. However, they should adopt precautionary measures to stop the spread of the virus from birds to human beings, experts said.

The outbreak of bird flu in the summer has surprised life scientists who believe that in India, this virus is mostly reported in the winter months following the arrival of migratory birds from different countries in October and November. The virus is generally transmitted to other birds by infected birds’ saliva or droppings in the air.
