A Nottinghamshire taxi firm has seen a 'crazy' amount of interest after it offered customers a ride to a viral Coventry fish and chip shop. Nottingham County Cars said at least 12 people have made the £80 return journey to Binley Mega Chippy, which rose to unlikely fame on social media.
David Scott said the Broxtowe-based cab company had received 15 calls about a trip to Binley since advertising the offer on Instagram, with drivers making the two-hour round trip to Binley four times on Saturday, June 4. "We took three this morning, it's gone mental," said the 58-year-old accounts manager.
"We put the ad online and we've had 15 calls about it, it's gone crazy. Drivers have had to wait in the cars for ages as the queues have been absolutely rammed. It's made Saturday very busy." Binley Mega Chippy shot to fame on TikTok after a catchy theme tune was made it.
