Bingo hall in Mansfield evacuated after fire breaks out

A bingo hall in Mansfield was evacuated after a fire broke out.

Appollo Bingo, situated in Mansfield Leisure Park, was forced to cut its game short on Friday night (January 28) due to the blaze.

Two fire engines, from Mansfield and Ashfield, rushed to the scene.

With the building evacuated, firefighters began to extinguish the fire who were using breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet.

They then used pressure ventilation fans to clear the building of smoke.

The bingo hall is open today.

In a statement, Ashfield Fire Station said: "Last night two appliances from Ashfield and Mansfield Fire Station responded to a fire at Apollo Bingo in Mansfield.

"The building was evacuated and a fire extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet. Positive pressure ventilation fans were also used to clear smoke from the building."
