Minor changes will be made to bin collections in Knowsley over the Christmas period.
Residents in the borough who have their bins collected on a Monday are being reminded of a change to the day. Unlike last year, there will be two changes to Knowsley’s bin collection days over the festive period.
Knowsley Council has confirmed that all other collection days will happen as normal, with collections still taking place on the Bank Holiday, Tuesday, December 27.

Those who usually have their bins collected on Monday, December 26 will have their collection day changed to Christmas Eve. The collection on January 2 will now take place on New Year's Eve.
For more information about waste collection days check your online waste collection calendar at Knowsley Council – Bin collections. For those with extra waste, the recycling centres in Knowsley will be open most days.
The opening hours for the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Wilson Road, Huyton and Depot Road, Kirkby are Monday to Sunday from 8am – 5pm but will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Many items are accepted at Recycling Centres, such as cans, cardboard, garden waste (including real Christmas trees), glass jars and bottles, paper, large plastics, scrap metal (including metal artificial trees), textiles, toys and white goods.
Before visitng a recycling centre, people are being urged to separate waste, remove polystyrene and flatten cardboard boxes and not to fly-tip outside of a recycling centre. Vans and large trailers also need to pre-book and wrapping paper with shiny, glossy or glittery surface should be disposed of in the general waste bin.
