A trip to London to support the Bills took a disastrous turn for Pro Football Hall of Famer and franchise legend Andre Reed last week, according to a post on his social media account.
Reed, 59, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he and his wife, Theresa Villano Reed, are working with UK authorities after several important items, including his Hall of Fame ring, were stolen from their London hotel room while they were out. Reed, who played 15 seasons in Buffalo, made the trip as Big Game Travel's guest of honor, and was scheduled for various events leading up to the Bills’ eventual Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.
“Someone in UK came in our room while I was at an appearance… & stole my hall of fame ring, jewelry, shoes, purses, clothing, passports,” wrote Reed on Wednesday in a post.
The retired seven-time Pro Bowler went on to share that he and his wife managed to acquire emergency passports, before noting the incident left them “feeling unsafe” and “violated.”
“Can’t even stay in hotels safely anymore. Need to be better people,” Reed added to close the update.
As of Thursday, it’s unknown if Reed’s stolen items have been recovered.
