Bills ask fans to shovel their stadium before 49ers game for $20 an hour (again!)

For the first time this NFL season, Buffalo has put up the bat signal for the Bills Mafia’s assistance. Which of course means there is some wild winter weather impacting western New York this week.

Ahead of Sunday’s showdown against the San Francisco 49ers, the Bills are asking for fans to sign up to help shovel snow out of Highmark Stadium.

The deal is pretty simple: The Bills will pay $20 per hour and provide food, hot beverages and shovels to those who sign up. If you like shoveling snow and enjoy being in an otherwise empty NFL stadium, this is a deal you can’t pass up.

Lake effect snow in Buffalo is expected to “bury” western New York beginning Saturday with two feet predicted to fall in Orchard Park, where the Bills’ stadium is located, by kickoff.

Per the Democrat and Chronicle:

The National Weather Service forecast for Orchard Park calls for below-freezing temperatures near 30 degrees and a 55% chance of precipitation by the 8:20 p.m. kickoff. Winds will be out of the west at 9 mph. Snow is considered likely and to fall at a rate of 0.4 inches per hour.
