Billionaires in boats as flooded houses in elite Bengaluru locality lose light & water

BENGALURU: Behind a low, unobtrusive wooden gate and a nameplate bearing the letter “e” in blue lies this city’s most exclusive gated community. Epsilon, 13km from the central business district, is so discreet that most passers-by would barely give it a second glance.

Home to Bengaluru’s corporate and business elite, its residents include old-money billionaires like Rishad Premji, the chairman of Wipro, to new-age startup billionaires like Byju Raveendran. Britannia CEO Varun Berry, Big Basket co-founder Abhinay Choudhari and Page Industries (Jockey) MD Ashok Genomal are among the select 150 people who live there. Overnight, Epsilon has gone from being a Utopia of the uber rich to a marooned mess.
