Billie Faiers and Greg Shepherd are facing a backlash over taking their kids out of school for a swanky trip to Abu Dhabi.
The couple, who recently announced they were expecting their third child, took daughter Nelly, 7, and son Arthur, 5, on the luxury holiday which they documented on social media.
Greg uploaded a video of him and his gorgeous family boarding the business class flight to Abu Dhabi, as he filmed them entering the airport and enjoying the business class lounge.
The clip then showed Arthur making the most of his expensive seat on the plane, as he reclined and relaxed while watching TV, and was later caught falling asleep with his headphones on.
The family were also presented with a stunning cake, which read ‘Welcome to Abu Dhabi’, and Greg shared more snippets of their time in the sky, including a brief toast to wife Billie as they prepared to land in the country.
“Let the Abu Dhabi adventures begin… Our 1st time flying with @etihad great service from start to finish #etihad,” he wrote.
But fans were quick to comment on the post, as they quizzed Greg and Billie over their decision to seemingly take the kids out of school for the trip.
“Kids spend more time on holiday than in school,” one wrote, as another agreed: “How many holidays do your kids have must miss so much important school learning?! what a life!”
“Do you just pay the school fine for taking kids out in term time?” another asked, while one fumed: “Is this now? Aren’t the kids missing school?”
However, some of their followers supported the family trip, with one insisting that it was better to take kids on holiday while they were still in primary school.
“Family time is so much more valuable enjoy making memories and do some school work away they are both in primary school not like it’s high school where exams are done,” they commented.
“To me Family time, family memories and being present with those you love, comes above all else,” they added.
The couple have yet to comment on the uproar, but Greg did like a comment on his post that read: “Just got back from 2 weeks way with my son. Took him out of school. School won't fine us because it was pre booked before covid and I gave them enough notice.
“Not all schools fine. Plus the fine is lot less than the cost of taking kids in school holidays. I will continue to do it myself! With the fact he's tagging etihad into it it's probably gifted in some way so I wouldn't say no either!” the follower added.
