Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Jamie Lee Curtis & More Famous Women On Trump’s Win: ‘A War On Women’

Donald Trump has officially been elected into the Oval Office, beating out the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris to become the 47th president of the United States. While this is a moment of joy for the likes of Elon Musk and Hulk Hogan, for many women across America and the world, it’s a moment which inspires a sense of apathy and rage.

Now, devastated Democratic-supporting celebrities have taken to social media to share their disappointment to see four more years of a leader who doesn’t respect women or their rights to make decisions about their own bodies.

Taking to Instagram shortly after the results were in, Billie Eilish shared an Instagram Story which simply read: “It’s a war on women.”

Throughout the election, Jamie Lee Curtis had been an outspoken Democrat supporter. Following the result, she shared her dismay with her followers.

“Many fear their rights will be impeded and denied. Many, minority groups and young people will be afraid. Gay and trans people will be more afraid. We know that many women will now find it difficult to get the reproductive healthcare that they need and deserve,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Fight against tyranny, one day at a time. One fight at a time. One protest at a time. That’s what it means to be an American. That’s what it has always meant and will always mean regardless of the outcome.”

Singer-songwriter Ethel Cain shared a lengthy statement on Instagram Stories, encouraging her followers to lean into a sense of unified community.

“Get off your phones and get out into the real world and remember what it feels like to be a person who is part of a larger body of people who love and bleed like you do,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, on X (formerly Twitter), celebs shared much shorter messages of disillusionment with the newly-elected government.

Although Cardi B first shared a Tweet that read “I hate y’all bad”, she followed up with a kind note to Harris, thanking her for her strength, honesty and integrity.

Following her concession speech, Kamala shared a bittersweet Tweet.

“My heart is full today — full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country and full of resolve.”

After the polls suggested that the presidential race was incredibly close, it’s no wonder why celebs have had such a strong public response to the result.
