As speculation begins on what’s next for Bill Belichick — and who will coach the New England Patriots now — is getting his flowers from around the NFL.
The all-time great coach is hearing particularly from Patriots both current and former, as news of him being done with the franchise broke on Thursday morning.
Not among them yet is Tom Brady, but I’m pretty sure the GOAT QB will make his presence known on social media at some point (this isn’t criticism! I swear! When he says anything, we’ll write about it separately!).
Here’s a roundup of tributes on X (formerly Twitter), mostly from ex-Pats:
Greatest to ever do it. Thank you Coach. https://t.co/3frmVK3TeD

End of an era in New England, I never liked the Patriots because I spent most of my career in the AFC East, but I respected them. Will be weird not seeing the Hoodie on the sideline for the Pats.

Back in 2016 I was a free agent. I had the opportunity to return to Jax on a better deal or go play with the Patriots.
I picked the PATS to play w Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Looking back now it was the wrong choice but I’ll always remember that time.
Be able to tell my kids…
