Bill Belichick has never been one to be sentimental, and that didn’t change Sunday even though he joined a pantheon of all-time great coaches.
The Patriots’ 29–25 win over the Bills marked Belichick’s 300th career regular-season win as a head coach, joining Don Shula (328) and George Halas (318) as the only NFL coaches to ever reach that mark. But sticking to his brand, Belichick didn’t overstate the accomplishment and just wanted to talk about Sunday’s game.
“It’s great,” Belichick told reporters after the game, per NESN. “I’m really more focused on our team and this year. I’ll worry about that later. Thank you.”
Before the game, it was reported by NFL Network that Belichick and New England had agreed on a lucrative multiyear contract extension during the offseason. In typical Belichick fashion, he shut down questions about the contract after the game.

“Yeah, I never talk about my contract,” he said. “Focused on the game. Trying to focus on Buffalo. Then I’ll focus on Miami. You can count on that.”
Up next, Belichick will look for win No. 301 when the Patriots face the Dolphins on Sunday with kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium set for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
