Victorian bikies could be stripped of club colours and symbols under expanded police powers.
Police Minister Anthony Carbines on Thursday confirmed the state government is consulting with police and other stakeholders on new anti-association laws.
The incoming reforms could include a ban on outlaw motorcycle club gang colours, better tracking of unexplained wealth and strengthening crime prevention orders.
"We're going to make sure that the community is safe and knows that we're going to disrupt, dismantle and get right up the nose of organised crime every which way that we can," he told reporters at parliament.
The ban could allow police to confiscate or remove items such as jackets and flags that have bikie club colours or symbols.
Other states have had success with similar laws, the minister said.
Mr Carbines doesn't expect legislation to be introduced to parliament until next year.
Victoria Police's new anti-gang crime squad, the VIPER taskforce, has laid 1300 charges and 375 arrests so far.
