Biker using M62 as 'private race track' killed friend with dangerous manoeuvre

A speeding motorcyclist who raced his friend on the M62 was jailed after a dangerous manoeuvre killed his pal.

Cambell Kennedy, then 23, and his friend Kyle Hempenstall, 28, were driving on the motorway on Wednesday May 27, 2020, when Kennedy led his friend between a Transit van and an HGV. He suddenly hit the brakes and beckoned Kyle to follow, causing the van to brake sharply and swerve towards the lorry, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Before the crash, between junctions 12 for Eccles and 11 for Birchwood, Kennedy had earlier pulled a wheelie and given another driver the 'w***** hand gesture'. Kyle's handlebar clipped the van when the gap narrowed between the vehicles.
