Biker suffers serious injuries in horror car smash as cops close Scots road for eight hours

A biker has been left seriously injured in hospital after a horror smash in Aberdeen. Emergency services were called to the scene on the A96 Great Northern Road at around 6.55pm on Thursday September 29.

A black Triumph motorcycle and a silver Toyota CHR car collided - leaving a 35-year-old man badly hurt. He was taken to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

No one else was injured while police closed the road for around eight hours to allow for a full accident investigation. Officers are now keen to hear from members of the public who may have dash cam footage from the area that may assist with their enquiries.

Constable Matthew Lawton of the Road Policing Unit in Inverurie said: “Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or other footage from the area around the time of the collision.

“Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting reference 2847 of 29 September.”

The road reopened at around 3.10am on Friday, September 30.
