A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital this morning after crashing into a deer on the M1.
The M1 Southbound was closed between J44 and J42 near Leeds earlier today, with all traffic held while police responded to the incident.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed they were called to the scene at around 7am after reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a deer.

Thankfully, the rider was not seriously injured but was taken to hospital for further treatment. Sadly, the animal involved in the collision died.
Police said the road was closed to allow for the passageway to be cleared.
Announcing the closure in a Tweet posted shortly after 7.30am, National Highways England said: "Traffic has been temporarily stopped on the #M1 southbound between J44 and J42 due to a collision. Please be patient, we'll get you moving again as soon as it's safe to do so."
Shortly after they added: "Unfortunately due to the severity of the collision we've had to close the #M1 southbound between J44 and J42 #Leeds. Please follow the solid diamond diversion symbol. More details to follow."
The road was reopened at around 8.35am.
