Biker dies after horror Highlands crash as cops appeal for witnesses

A biker has died after a horror smash in the Highlands.

The man, who was riding a red Honda Motorcycle, was involved in a crash with a white Volvo XC70 on the A835 at the junction of the A832 near the village of Garve, Ross-shire, around 8.35am today.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man, was rushed to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, with serious injuries.

Sadly, the biker later died.

The driver and passenger of the Volvo were uninjured.

Road Policing officers have launched a probe into the fatal smash and are now appealing for witnesses.

They are also urging anyone with any further information on the event to get in touch.

Sergeant David Miller of Dingwall Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“We are appealing to anyone with further information or Dashcam footage to contact us.

"Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1135 of 15 May.”
