A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car on a Scots road.
Emergency services scrambled to the A72, near Innerleithen in the Borders, after the collision happened at around 3.50pm on Saturday, April 23.
Ambulance crews attended but the 60-year-old male rider of the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for six hours while officers carried out a probe into the crash.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection.
Police say their enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called around 3.50pm on Saturday, April 23, following reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike on the A72 near Innerleithen.
“Emergency services attended and a 60-year-old man, the motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.
“The road reopened after a six-hour closure.”
