PATNA: A low-intensity blast was reported near the residential campus of Bihar Police Training Centre at Nathnagar in Bhagalpur on Friday evening.
A dog squad was rushed to the spot. "A low-intensity explosion was heard from the raw land (kachi zameen) near the police training camp after an autorickshaw loaded with water jars crossed over the place," SSP Baburam told ANI.
"A number of iron nails were recovered from the site which hinted at it being a small cracker or bomb that was left in the sand and exploded after it could no longer bear the pressure," he said. More details can be provided only after the FSL team's report, the SSP added.
Lalmatiya outpost in-charge Mithlesh Kumar told TOI that they recovered a few nails from the spot.
"Nails which we have recovered from the spot have been brought for investigation. However, we cannot say at present that it was a blast or the tire had exploded," he said.
