PATNA: The absence of regularly appointed full-time officials is adversely affecting the proper functioning of universities and colleges in the state. At least six universities do not have full-time vice-chancellors. They are being administered by “officiating” VCs in addition to their original assignments despite the fact that the state universities Act clearly defines a VC as a full-time officer of the university concerned.
Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU), Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University (MMHAPU) and Magadh University (MU) are not having full-time VCs.
