Bihar: Girl dies as Nawada mica mine caves in

NAWADA: A young girl was buried alive and several others grievously injured when the mine in which they were illegally quarrying mica, caved in at Bhanukhap in Hardia panchayat, 14 km from Rajauli police station, in Nawada district on Tuesday.

Illegal mica quarrying has been going on unabated for decades in several mines spread over roughly 75 to 80 square kilometres in Rajauli and Koderma areas on the Bihar-Jharkhand border.
