Conspiracy theorists believe they have spotted a seven-and-half feet Bigfoot roaming through the wild in Colorado.
Bigfoot, a purported ape-like creature, is said to reside in the forests of North America and there have been multiple 'sightings' over the years.
And an image of a bear-like creature spotted on Google Earth has been posted onto a Reddit community group sharing information and theories on Bigfoot.
The sighting is at the coordinates 38°16'24" N. 108°08'32 in western Colorado where the supposed creature is seen strolling through a clearing near some vegetation.
A caption along with the image states: “Is it a bear? A puddle? A hiker without gear? Impossible to say for certain but the darker areas of the subject align with the shadows of other objects nearby.
“Measures around 7-7.5 feet. Appears hunched over. Subject does not appear on other satellite images from different years which might imply that subject is mobile or not stationary object.”
One community member said he knew the area and told of having felt a creepy feeling when at that spot.
"I’m actually quite familiar with that general area. I lived in Montrose for 26 years and used to camp and hike on the Uncompahgre Plateau," they wrote.
"There was one section on that loop hike that sometimes gave me the willies in a vague and undefinable way, and at least one other person I know said the same thing about that area. I don’t know about the image, but I do know that the Uncompahgre Plateau is big, rugged, and at least POTENTIALLY squatchy."
But another community member was less convinced.
"I found later photos (Shadows are different, sun farther south/lower) and this is a ground anomaly," they wrote. "Water likely. Maybe the start of a lake. If that is the case, it should be named Skookum Lake."
It comes as Bigfoot expert Thomas Markum has said that the creature rarely attacks humans.
"Without a doubt a bigfoot could easily kill a man if it wanted to. The size and strength would be unmatched by a human," he said.
"But this would be a very rare event, in my opinion. While the potential is there that bigfoot could do human harm, it doesn't seem to be happening. There are a few historical reports of attacks but most are only after someone shot at a bigfoot."
While researchers are reporting more and more encounters with Bigfoot, Marcum noted that "if Bigfoot was a killing machine, they would never make it out."
