The 2022 college football season is in full swing and Week 2 is among us. I am trying to schedule out my television schedule and thought that you might need some help as well. The Big Ten has a full slate of games with 14 contests and some may be classified more in the “cupcake” category there are some extremely interesting games.
It will be hard for the Big Ten to match the excitement of last week as the primetime match-up of Ohio State and Notre Dame was marked as one of the most compelling games of the season, but I think a few of these games may surprise us.
Arkansas State at Ohio State
This game kicks off at noon on the Big Ten Network and it is interesting to know that this will be the first-ever contest between the two programs.
Duke at Northwestern
This game kicks off at noon on Fox Sports 1. The Wildcats have won eight of the last 12 contests with the Blue Devils, but have lost the last three in a row.
Ohio at Penn State
You can find the game at noon on ABC. The Nittany Lions have only lost to current MAC members three times and that includes a loss to Ohio, 24-14 in 2012.
Western Illinois at Minnesota
This game is also at noon on the Big Ten Network. The Golden Gophers have won their only previous meeting with Western Illinois, 29-12 in 2013 at home.
Maryland at Charlotte
This game kicks off at 3:30 and won’t be televised. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
Washington State at Wisconsin
This game kicks off at 3:30 pm on FOX and will mark the third-ever meeting between the two programs. The Badgers are currently 2-0 against Washington State.
Akron at Michigan State
This game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. on Big Ten Network. The Spartans won their only two previous meetings against Akron in 1913 and 1914 by a combined score of 116-6.
Indiana State at Purdue
You can find this game at 4:00 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. The Boilermakers are 5-0 against Indiana State and last won here in 2015, 38-14.
Iowa State at Iowa
This game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. on Big Ten Network. The Hawkeyes own this series as they have won the last six. This is the 69th meeting for the Cy-Hawk Trophy and Iowa is currently the series leader at 46-22.
Virginia at Illinois
This game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. on ESPNU. the Fighting Illini are 2-1 against Virginia with both wins coming in bowl games in 1989 and 1999. Last season Virginia rolled Illinois, 42-14.
Wagner at Rutgers
This game can be found at 4:00 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
Georgia Southern at Nebraska
This game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
Hawai'i at Michigan
This game kicks off at 8:00 p.m. on Big Ten Network. The Wolverines are undefeated at 3-0 against Hawai’i. and the average margin of victory is 46-10.
Idaho at Indiana
This game has a start time of 8:00 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. Last season was the first time these two programs met and the Hoosiers dominated to the tune of 56-14.
