Bristol is getting two big screens set up as part of grand £1million plans for King Charles III's coronation in May. The Department for Culture, Media and Sport have offered cash to areas with combined authority mayors, councils in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as other large urban centres to set up big screens for the upcoming coronation.
It has been reported that each local authority is able to decide whether they want to put the funds towards a single site, or a number of smaller ones, reports the Express.
So far, there have been confirmed sites at Bristol Cathedral and the Bristol and Bath Science Park. Other sites around the UK include Jubilee Square in Brighton, Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester, Belfast City Hall and Cardiff Castle.

The ceremony is set for May 6, and there will also be a screen set up at Windsor Castle the following day to show the Coronation concert. Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer said: “The Coronation will be a magical moment that brings people together to celebrate the best of Britain over a special weekend in May.
“These big screens, in major locations in towns and cities in the four nations of the UK, will make it easier for everyone to take part and have a memorable experience to mark this exciting and historic event.”
Several councils will be hosting various events to celebrate the event, with activities like community workshops, live music, games and competitions all being available for the public to attend.
There are expected to be tens of thousands of 'Coronation Big Lunches' as well as street parties. On the following Monday (May 8) the Big Help Out will take place, for which tens of thousands of people will be volunteering to support a variety of causes.
