Big Narstie heartbroken as he spoke to Jamal Edwards hours before 'sudden illness' death

Devastated Big Narstie has revealed that he spoke to Jamal Edwards just hours before his sudden death.

The 31-year-old music producer tragically died on Sunday, with his heartbroken mother, Loose Women presenter Brenda Edwards, revealing he suffered a ‘sudden illness’.

Tributes for the much-loved star have been flooding in since the devastating news has broke, with huge artists including Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran paying tribute to the talented music star.

Comedian and TV star Big Narstie also penned a tear-jerking tribute to Jamal, revealing that he spoke to his friend just hours before his sudden death.

Jamal's heartbroken friend insisted that he couldn't believe the tragic news as he took to Twitter to pay tribute to the 31-year-old.

Big Narstie confirmed that the pair were planning to film a video together this week as shared his disbelief.

"This can’t be real spoke to @jamaledwards today we doing video Wednesday," he penned.

Elsewhere, comedian Mo Gilligan tweeted: "A truly humble and blessed soul. Your legacy will live on for years and you’ve inspired a whole generation. Rest easy Jamal Edwards."

Music sensation Skepta wrote in an Instagram post: "Love and thank you Jamal, young legend."

On Monday, Jamal's devastated mum, Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, confirmed that her beloved son passed away from a sudden illness.

"It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness," Brenda penned.

"Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world.

"As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support."

"Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives On Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."

Jamal, who was credited with helping launch the careers of stars like Jessie J and Dave, was the eldest of the Loose Women presenter's two children.

The late music star will be remembered as an inspiration following his success with online platform SB.TV.

Jamal used the platform to spotlight underground artists including Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Dave, who all later rose to prominence.

Thanks to his impressive achievements and career, Jamal was appointed an MBE for services to music in 2014.

The late star was also an ambassador for the Prince's Trust, a youth charity run by the Prince of Wales which helps young people set up their own companies.
