'Big miss' - Morecambe's Derek Adams on facing Bolton Wanderers & Ricardo Santos absence

Morecambe boss Derek Adams believes Bolton Wanderers will miss skipper Ricardo Santos for the clash agaInst his side as he suggested that he will have the same group of players to choose from as he did from the weekend draw versus Fleetwood Town.

Wanderers host Adams' side at the University of Bolton Stadium in League One. The Whites will be aiming to build upon their positive start which sees them on five points from their first three games.

The Shrimps drew 1-1 against the Cod Army in their match at the Mazuma Stadium on Saturday. Former Bolton attacker Arthur Gnahoua gave Morecambe the lead before Danny Andrew equalised before full-time, with Paddy Lane shown a straight red card in injury time for the visitors.

Both games last season involving these two sides ended with the spoils being shared following 1-1 draws. Adams felt his side acquitted themselves well in their last clash at the University of Bolton Stadium, but believes Wanderers did too.

Adams believes Will Aimson will come in to repalce the missing Santos, who is suspended for the encounter following a red card against Port Vale on Saturday. But the Morecambe boss believes Wanderers have a strong squad and that any side which can beat Wycombe 3-0 as Bolton did are doing something right.

Speaking to the club's YouTube channel, Adams said: "They've obviously got one that will come straight in, I think that Aimson will come straight in and replace him in the team, but Santos is a big miss for them because he's quick, he's strong, he's good on the ball and he's a presence for them.

"But they've got a squad that's able to change and they've taken in one that's highly experinced as well. We're exactly the same we are from Saturday's game.

"We played ever so well that night, so did Bolton, they had a pattern of play that was difficult to play against and we did really well against them, created a number of good openings in the game, but Tuesday night is different. The teams are different, they've adapted over the summer and we've added as well.

"Anybody who can beat Wycombe 3-0 has to be doing something right and we looked at that game, we've looked at the game from Saturday, we've looked at previous games, we understand their philosophy and we understand what we've got to do to get the better of them."
