Big hearted students at Armadale Academy have raised over £2000 to help a local charity whose base was destroyed by fire.
We reported last week how The Shed was gutted by the blaze with the charity’s tools, equipment and orders they had been working on all destroyed.
The charity said it has been overwhelmed by the support from the local community since the blaze - including from pupils at Armadale Academy, who have set up a fundraising page to help.
Pupils Darcy and McKenzie said they wanted to help The Shed as it had done so much for people in Armadale.
The girls said: “The Armadale Shed is a workshop at the heart of our community in Armadale.
“Our school students, older members of the community have shared their experience and precious moments that helped connect our community.
“The Shed was devastated by a fire and there was nothing left to save from it. A lot of people were left heartbroken but many wanted to help which is a true testimony on how great our community is.”
