Big financial support for young taekwondo prodigy from Kashmir Musharaf Qayoom set to boost his career

Big financial support for young taekwondo prodigy from Kashmir, Musharaf Qayoom is set to boost his career in a big way.

The Punit Balan Group (PBG), an organisation committed to nurturing sporting talent across various fields, announced its support for the young taekwondo player, Musharaf Qayoom.

The 18-year-old, who hails from the North Kashmir district of Baramulla, has already achieved remarkable feats in the sport. Musharaf’s 37 gold medals include one he recently bagged in Khelo India. The Punit Balan Group recently formalised a cooperation agreement with the young athlete.

Punit Balan, President of the Punit Balan Group, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Jammu & Kashmir has enormous potential, and I am committed to promote and support these athletes so that they can fulfil the dream to represent India and win medals for the country. After living in the shadow of terror, the youth of the Kashmir Valley are shining in various fields. I am sure Musharaf Qayoom too will make Kashmir and India proud at the international level.”

The black belt holder began his journey at the local level when he was just seven. Over the years, he has done well winning a bronze medal at the national competition and a silver at the Junior National Taekwondo Competition.

“I am grateful to Punit Sir for showing faith in me. The support from the group will help train and ensure that I have the right atmosphere and exposure. Hopefully it will provide me an opportunity to make Kashmir and India proud,” Musharaf Qayoom said.

The Punit Balan Group looks forward to providing all the necessary resources, mentorship, and guidance required to excel in the sport and help him reach greater heights at the international level.

PBG’s commitment to fostering the culture of excellence and growth is aligned perfectly with the world of philanthropy and sports as he consistently demonstrates his dedication to uplift and support close to 60 talented athletes across sports. The organisation has been supporting other young athletes from Kashmir in various sporting disciplines like, Afreen Hayder (Taekwondo), Muhammad Saleem (Cycling) Umar Shah (Cricket) and Umeer Syed (Kho Kho).
