Lauren Harries has been rushed to an intensive care unit in hospital amid her recovery from a brain operation.
The Celebrity Big Brother star's mother has taken to social media to update fans on her daughter's health and admitted Lauren "still has a way to go".
Lauren, 45, could have died after she was rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery her mother claimed earlier this month, after the former child star suffered from unknown medical issue.
Kaye Harries took to her daughter's social media accounts to tell Lauren's followers she was doing well following the operation but has since shared a new worrying update.
Writing to Lauren's 44,400 followers on Twitter today, Kaye shared: "Lauren was moved to ICU as she caught Covid as well as 2 infections causing her breathing issues.
"She is awake and talking again back in Neurology. I want to say thank you again to all the amazing staff at Heath Hospital. She still has a way to go but she is strong. Prey [sic] for her."
"Bless her, she’s had an awful time . Get well soon Lauren," one fan of the star replied to the update shared on Lauren's account this morning.
"Sending so much love," another added, as a third wrote: "Thinking of you Lauren, you’re a fighter and we need you back immediately!!!"
Kaye's tweet today follows the news of Lauren's health woes breaking earlier this month.
On April 14, Lauren's mother alarmed fans when she tweeted: "Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren @LaurenHarries. Who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today."
The following day it was revealed Lauren had "woken up after her brain surgery" and shared how medic had to shave the reality TV star's hair ahead of the operation.
"As you know this is Laurens worst nightmare but she would have died if not," a tweet posted on Lauren's Twitter account added. "The amazing staff in the Heath Hospital have been wonderful. Thank you for your kind words, her recovery ahead. Update to follow."
A picture of Lauren lying in a hospital bed, appearing to be asleep or unconscious, was then shared to her Twitter account on April 18, with the caption: "Yesterday they moved Lauren back to recovery, she is under close watch. She still has memory issues and confusion.
"The doctors say that she does not need another operation atm they are taking it day by day. Please pray for her and send her your love. Thank you for your kindness."
Lauren found fame as a child antiques expert, who appeared on the Antiques Roadshow and Wogan, before undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2001.
After a break from the spotlight she reemerged as Lauren to star on Channel 5 series Trust Me – I’m A Beauty Therapist and then, in 2013, starred on Celebrity Big Brother on the same channel.
