Big Brother's Anthony Hutton: Where is the series six winner now?

When Anthony Hutton became the winner of Big Brother 6, his life was guaranteed to change. Taking home a whopping £50,000 prize pot his cheeky and charming personality captivated viewers from the moment he stepped through the doors into the house.

After the series ended, the then 23-year-old was catapulted to fame. He released a 70s disco-inspired workout DVD, as well as doing the rounds by appearing in nightclubs and venues across the country.

Prior to entering the Big Brother house in 2005, Hutton was a trainee barber living with his parents in their County Durham home. Now, he's almost unrecognisable as he admitted to being "over the moon" at the announcement that ITV will be bringing back the infamous reality house.

Since he already had training as a barber, that is what Anthony chose to pursue. In 2016, after much research and thought, he opened Mr Hutton's Barbers and Bar in Darlington.

Speaking at the time, Anthony told local news: "I’ve had the idea for ages and it was one of those things that was put on a pedestal, but I was always hell-bent on doing it. I started doing research about it and couldn’t find anything like it – though Carlsberg had an advert saying, ‘if we did barber shops’, and that’s the kind of concept I’ve gone for.

“I’ve been in Darlington for the last three years with my partner, Sophie, and we have a lot of friends and support in the area. When we saw the spot had become available, we just had to have it."

As well as serving looks alongside pints, Anthony is also planning on helping out the next generation of potential stars. He offers barber training and cocktail classes, so all clients are catered for.

"On day one you're going to be cutting hair on a live model. In 12 weeks you’ll be walking out the door confident in all aspects of barbering," the shop's Instagram promises.

Anthony has described his Big Brother win as life-changing. He previously told ChronicleLive: "When I first came off the show, my life completely changed, it was just turned upside down. I went into the Big Brother house a lad from County Durham who lived at home and came out with people in the street knowing my name.

"The day I got off the show I was being contacted by agents and a couple of days later I was paid £200,000 to do a photo shoot with OK magazine. From day one it was just crazy."

Appearing on This Morning after the ITV announcement, Anthony admitted he was "over the moon" with the decision, but called on show bosses to make the new series "more diverse".
