The Big Brother house was locked down and the housemates ordered to remain indoors when the TV site was threatened by a security breach this week.
According to a new report, a man is believed to have attempted to fly a drone over the TV compound and film housemates ahead of the first eviction.
The Sun reported that when the show’s security team attempted to remove the man, who filmed their conversation and refused to leave, he claimed that he had hacked into their radio systems and listened in on conversations between Big Brother staff.
The outlet also alleged that the intruder, who claimed to be a YouTuber, continued to film the reality show’s team and studio vehicles, arguing he was on public land.
It’s unclear when the incident took place and how long the Big Brother compound was put on lockdown.
A Big Brother spokesperson told The Standard: “We have robust and rigorous security measures in place across our site for the safety of the Big Brother house, production team and Housemates.
“Safety and welfare is always a priority.”
It’s not the first time the series has faced a secruity breach. Back in 2013, tennis balls with messages written on them were thrown into the show’s garden.
While in 2018, YouTubers Ally Law and Ryan Taylor broke into the compound and filmed themselves behind the scenes.
Other incidents in the show’s history have included members of the public shouting information from the outside world loud enough for contestants in the garden to hear.
Elsewhere, contestants Kerry and Farida are the first housemates to face the public vote ahead of Friday night’s first live eviction of the series.
Housemate Olivia won immunity by passing her secret mission earlier in the week and housemates were prohibited from nominating her for eviction.
After the reveal on Friday, the evictee will be interviewed by hosts AJ Odudu and Best on Big Brother’s follow-up show at 10pm.
