As Ken Jennings takes a hiatus from Jeopardy hosting duties, The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik is set for a short stint in the hot seat for the three-week long High School Reunion Tournament.
However, unfortunately for the actress, fans weren't impressed by her first-look scenes - which doesn't bode well with rumours she's set to stick around for the rest of the quiz show's current season.
Mayim, 47, looked smart in a chic light blazer and dark shirt combination in the teaser clip for her new role.
In the video shared to the show's Instagram, Mayim is seen taking up regular hosting duties for the first time in five months as regular host Ken, 48, takes a break.
The 14-part series sees 27 former Teen Tournament contestants from 2019 battle it out again.
Speaking to the crowd, Mayim confirmed that the competitors will have a chance to win $100,000 and a place in this year's Tournament of Champions.
Starting the clip, the Blossom actress said: "Welcome everyone to a special reunion here on Jeopardy!
"Fast forward a few years and these players are finishing high school, still in college, or have recently graduated and are ready to compete again.
Mayim then introduced the first three hopefuls as the camera panned to their smiling faces.
But the opening sketch didn't hit the right note with viewers, with many taking to social media to let their feelings known.
One Twitter user wrote: "With respect to your decision, I will not record or watch until Ken Jennings returns. I'm a lifelong watcher, but Mayim makes one of my favorite shows unwatchable."
Another seemingly agreed and slammed the hosting decision. "Guess 3 weeks no Jeopardy for me. All I could do was listen to her here...." they said.
And a third wrote: "I've changed my DVR settings until Ken is back--hope it's not long!"
A fourth added: "Buckle up... she's going to host through the rest of the season..."
However, her position wasn't an entire flop and a number of fans took to the platform to defend the star. One user simply commented: "Love Mayim."
Mayim and Ken were announced as the current presenters of the show in the summer of 2022, replacing the longtime host Alex Trebek who sadly died in 2020 at the age of 80.
While Mayim was named as a host, she is yet to take to the show for anything other than Celebrity Jeopardy!
The latest tournament edition of the show is taking the place of the regular episodes between February 20 and March 9.
