BIDs come together to save Bristol high streets more than £130,000

Bristol BIDs have saved local businesses more than £132,000 in its first nine months of coming together.

Cost saving experts enlisted by Bristol City Centre, Redcliffe and Temple, and Broadmead BIDs have appointed PSP to deliver a programme aimed at reducing business operating costs during the current 'cost-of-doing-business' crisis.

The partnership offers expertise and resources, helping businesses to achieve their sustainability goals and compete in today's market. It also provides additional comprehensive guidance spanning a number of topics such as energy efficiency, sustainability and cost reduction strategies.

The Place Support Partnership was born out of a desire to support businesses and has been designed to help generate economic outcomes for all involved. Founded by Rishi Sood, PSP has been commissioned by 60 BIDs and 12 local authorities to date and has identified millions of pounds worth of savings since 2021.

Mr Sood has 14 years of experience in the field, and is personally credited with securing millions of pounds worth of savings. PSP has offered a service to the Bristol BIDs by serving the needs of retail, entertainment, NTE and professional services.

Steve Bluff, head of Redcliffe and Temple BID, said: “We have a broad mix of professional services, hospitality and retail businesses within our BID area and sustainable cost management is important to all of them to ensure they can thrive. We partnered with Rishi and his team because of their excellent track record across the UK in identifying significant savings and if your business hasn’t already, we recommend getting in touch to explore the opportunities”

Vicky Lee, head of Bristol City Centre BID, said: “We look forward to continuing this collaboration with the PSP making savings for businesses in the city centre, who have been dedicated to providing the best services for customers through this cost-of-living crisis.

"The PSP has become a valuable asset during a time of uncertainty for many local businesses. We have already seen fantastic results for our levy paying members and we hope this will help them to feel ever-more confident in making financially sound decisions long into the future.”

Mr Sood added: “As we enter this period of uncertainty, it is fast becoming apparent that the need to make savings wherever possible isn’t just a national issue – but a global one.

“Retail has always been a challenging sector, especially with the rise of e-commerce, but the acceleration of moving to digital during the pandemic, and now with the effects of the energy crisis, many more businesses have been forced to close. The climate will remain difficult throughout 2023, therefore it is PSP’s goal to lead by example and deliver strategic, smart and ethical programmes that can offer trusted advice, guidance and support.”
