Supporters of President Joe Biden attending his rally in Wisconsin have expressed mixed feelings about his performance and ability to lead the Democratic ticket following the recent debate.
One supporter, Jeff Martinson, who backed the president in 2020, voiced concerns about Biden's campaign conduct. Martinson highlighted that he believes Biden has not been assertive enough in showcasing his capabilities since the debate. He emphasized the need for Biden to reassure his supporters by demonstrating more strength in his campaign efforts.
On the other hand, voter Andrea Straus expressed confidence in Biden, stating that she believes he is the right person for the job and should not step aside.
Shana Verstegen from Madison, Wisconsin, described the debate as challenging to watch and acknowledged making excuses for the president's performance. Verstegen, a fitness professional who attended the rally with her children, admitted feeling a sense of nervousness if the American people are also feeling apprehensive.
Reflecting on the debate, Verstegen noted the difficulty in watching it and mentioned attributing Biden's performance to his busy schedule and numerous responsibilities. Despite this, she emphasized the importance of having a Democrat in power for the next four years and expressed solidarity with those who are feeling anxious.
